Between the sniffing, the slurring, and tongue thrusting, the evidence of eyes and ears suggests something really wrong with him, whatever it might be.

He was clearly slurring and sniffing. The evidence is available for the viewing. The question as to why is another story. Any answer would be speculative. I think his point is why aren’t they talking about it?
