I’m old enough to remember when gun control was trying to rid ourselves of handguns.

I think people who try to make that argument watch too much TV & movies. It’s not at all easy during an intense situation to aim & fire a weapon at who you want to stop. Look up the stats one day on how many police officers are killed or maimed by “friendly” fire.

The guys in Texas has trained for the situation and it's probably why they were able to stop the shooter. Most gun owners don't have the time or money for the ammo it takes to be so well trained. GOP is trying to say this exception is the rule.

Guessing you're talking about the church incident in TX. Also consider that the 2 "good guys" (volunteer security as well as parishioners, per CNN) reacted within 6 seconds, yet the gunman STILL managed to kill 2 people.
