Donald Barr was in the OSS (now CIA) during WWII, serving in Germany. Around 1959, he also had a habit of sending fake letters to NYT under the name Charles Danforth Rossiter, and penned under his secretary’s fake name Mary Lou Ten Eyck. @BurnsPhoenix @page88
Bizarrely, my Grandfather Harry Casler served in OSS at the same time. He later went on to a long career in Foreign Service serving as Nixon’s attaché until a row w Kissinger over bombing Cambodia. Bet he knew Barr.
Fascinating. Would be interesting to dig around in some of the OSS histories and see what can be found that might be relevant. Also, being dead, perhaps Don Barr’s FBI file could be obtained.
W/Barr Sr writing abt sex slavery in the 70s, & hiring to the Dalton math department unlettered Epstein, w/whom he had the burgeoning sex-slave interest in common, one wonders if old Barr—sorry, Danforth Rossiter—mt have seen not just a fellow slave-trader but a junior spy in JE.
