Used to do this all the time then stopped when I realised both that they were not listening and how much time and mental energy it was using up.

Plus they always have the resort of saying 'but I don't mean you. I mean those evil deluded people over there' and some trans people will always fall for it.

I have never in my life seen those who spread hate sit down and have a civilised debate about anything they always resort to denial of the truth and respond with hatred when they don't understand.

Even if they do debate, the strategy is to be as intentionally confrontational and irritating as possible because if you're an ass to someone for 30 minutes straight and they call you out on it, they're the uncivil one! Congratulations they got mad (defended themselves), YOU WIN!
-
Their strategy, you mean? Yeah, I've seen that. Best counter strategy to that I've found is to break down first the logical fallacies and factual inaccuracies, then point out bits where you and they actually agree, a second round of logical error ID... and by that point >

Srsly, in the UK about 70% of respondents to the GRA consultation were in favour of reform. Govt sided with the minority of 'gender critical' ppl. Despite having more control over a process that only affects us than we do, they'll complain that their voices aren't being heard.

That same public would bring back hanging. The laws criminalising homosexuality were abolished in the face of viciferous, rabid public opposition. Progess would never have been made. Careful what you wish for-the history of human rights is that of deeply unpopular state decision
