They want trans people forcibly detranstioned, they want us to cease existing as a class of people entirely, they want us exterminated. And they're trying to make the social cost of being trans too high for anyone, to mandate us out of existance.
"Ho ho! Bet you didn't think about trans men in the ladies, eh TERFs? Gotcha!" doesn't help because it paints TERF ideology as something silly they just stumbled into, instead of a serious extremist hate movement with clear goals of eliminating trans people entirely.
I think the real value in "Gotcha" arguments is that they help illustrate to bystanders that TERFs' whole line of argument is based on lies and hypocrisy and that even they themselves don't really buy their own BS.

Treatment of Trans men from TERFS also consists of calling them traitors, accusing them of being butch lesbians who have been coerced or forced by some nonsense, and foster an enviroment where 'corrective rape' and other physical punishment can be put on these poor guys.
It does work pretty brilliantly for people who aren't well informed and have heard a few anti-trans talking points (TERF or otherwise).
