    The City may close some outdoor facilities for the safety of the public and employees due to poor air quality. City staff will evaluate the AQI and the daily forecast each morning and determine whether or not facilities can remain safely open. More info .

    Firefighters are responding to a brush fire located on Prison Hill. Fairview is closed between 5th Street and the Nevada National Guard. Carson River Road is closed between 5th and Pinion Hills Road. No structures are threatened at this time.

    On January 15, a horrific incident involving a crash within Sportsman’s Warehouse endangered many and left 5 injured. The heroic actions taken by Kayla Sue Testa saved a small girl and prevented heartbreak beyond injury. Today is proclaimed as “A Day to Honor Kayla Sue Testa.”
