According to César Rodríguez-Garavito, there are two ways that human rights actively fight against economic injustice: “One struggle for justice happens within the rules of the game . . . the second is one that questions and disrupts the rules of the game itself.”
How do we discern between the two types of struggle? César Rodríguez-Garavito looks at how #power is being exercised. Power sets the parameters of the conversation and the legal parameters of what is possible.
As much as #HumanRights rights have contributed to the cause of economic justice & fairness, César Rodríguez-Garavito notes that there are 2 limitations that need to be systematically addressed. The first is the rights of future generations. The second is the rights of #nature.
