Words have consequences. I see the consequences in the fear my non-white friends and neighbors are feeling, and we saw the consequences in the horrific tragedy in El Paso. Our country deserves so much better.

I watched the President's statement yesterday, and I couldn't help but think that perhaps someone had hacked his teleprompter. The President and those who enable him owe the American people a profound apology. But more than that, they owe us action. They owe us real gun reform. And they owe us a commitment that they will stop feeding and abetting the racist, violent, dark side of America.

He read the teleprompter in a wooden and emotionless tone, because he could not care less.

Did you see his eyes during his “performance”? Really strange little slits. And his voice, facial expressions and composure were completely alien... for him, all suggesting it was a staged performance that he did not feel comfortable doing.
