Last night, I was listening to this and about halfway through the story shifts to a reporter who was in El Paso when the shooting happened. The reporter stumbled on a couple, Manuel and Patricia, who had lost their son Joaquin at the Parkland shooting.https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/05/podcasts/the-daily/mass-shootings-el-paso-dayton.html …
They'd come to El Paso to help families at the border- to do good deeds in honor of their son on his 19th birthday. But they ended up at the site of the shooting comforting families there. As the couple is interviewed, you can hear the reporter sobbing. I cried too. #DoSomething
