Thank you all for being a part of this effort. Thank you for the donations of your hard earned money, for braving the heat & the cold & the rain to knock doors, for making phone calls & texting & for all the help with the little things like folding chairs or bringing in brownies.

We have put #GA07 on the map as a competitive seat. This campaign took a gerrymandered district that a four-term GOP incumbent won by 20% in 2016 and that Trump won by 6%, to a district where the incumbent won by only 0.16%, or 433 votes out of over 280,000 cast.

We have been a part of a tremendous effort to build the infrastructure of the Dem. party. A hardworking, talented & diverse set of candidates at the state & local level had significant victories, flipping 7 state legislative seats, 2 county commission seats & a school board seat.

We also have been a part of an effort to build the community of people in this area committed to a progressive and humanist vision of America.

We believe health care & education are human rights. We are committed to building a vibrant economy that invests in the technology & jobs of the future, & we believe in a country grounded in community but also one that is diverse, inclusive, & global in its outlook & aspirations.

There is much more to be done. This is not the end of the fight; it’s just the end of the beginning.

At this moment though, as we go into the Thanksgiving holiday, it is a time to pause and to be grateful. For me, I am so thankful for the many, many friendships I have made or renewed as a part of this campaign, and for the community we have built.
