#rustlang can yinz give me a concrete example of a case in your code (not stdlib) when you would want to call `panic!`?
Why not tell the user they gave bad input though, and let them fix it?

because they are never supposed to give you bad input, it makes no sense, and you can't always prevent that in type system.

for example, it's silly to test memory ops success , what can you do? Bad input can mean uncatched compile time bug.
