- dependabot puts in the PR description the messages of the commits from the dependency it's updating, some of which sometimes contain `[ci skip]` - when bors merges an approved PR into master and tests it, it uses the PR description as the commit message

- travis doesn't build commits with `[ci skip]` in them - bors is looking for results from travis and can't find them because they don't get created they're all just trying to be helpful though. good bots.
