I do that with Twitch But I strongly recommend mob programming for everyone to learn. It is perfect for this

Have you done remote mob programming? If so, do you have any tips for tech or managing the conversation?

Yep. Our team is 100% distributed and we Mob all the time. :) We use Zoom as it manages concurrent users really well. There are a couple of ways to “pass” the keyboard.

First is to use screensharing which works great if everyone has a strong internet connection, but it does sometimes cause lag for the driver.

Next is to push changes up. This ensures everyone works locally and reduces lag.

What we end up doing the most though is having a dedicated driver for a longer period of time. This breaks some of the strong style conventions though so at times one person is both the driver and navigator. Not ideal, but with good team dynamics you can keep accountability high.
