Interesting stats like it still has 1M active users and $650M in user to user transactions per year which has been roughly the same since 2008.

The only pet peeve I had with the podcast was the interviewer kept interjecting crypto & web3 talking points into a discussion that was clearly about 3D virtual worlds inspired by the Metaverse in Snow Crash and the Oasis in Ready Player One.

Crypto people have really done the tech community a disservice by hijacking both web3 and Metaverse into their FOMO driven narrative.

That'd be $650 per user...that seems hard to believe, but ... maybe that's just the way it goes.

OpenSea was doing billions of dollars a month in transactions with a similar number of users so it’s reasonable to believe that Second Life is doing around $50M in transactions a month from a hardcore dedicated audience.
