The frankness in this is so excellent.

Do you think that they will do the things you've asked? I think an interesting part of this dynamic is that they are four individuals. I think Sarsour has done a lot of meaningful things to foster healing. Mallory hasn't even apologized for the enemies of Jesus tweet.
-
I don't know. I hope so. I think if we don't thank people for progress we won't get anywhere, and that reconciliation is the best outcome for WM leadership and the Jewish community.
-
I thought a road map would be useful to everyone.
-
It was - a great one. But I think they have ignored many, many road maps like these for years. I maintain that it's better to invest in other, less problematic women's organizations.
-
I am really worried about the ramifications if the 4 of them step down because of allegations of anti-semitism.
-
What ramifications?
-
Outlined in more depth in the piece but, inter-community tensions increasing and raising anti-semitism in progressive and leftist circles. I think it would actually hurt attempts to have progressives reckon with anti-semitism, not help it.

Carly I do like your work. But then finally including Jews in their Unity Principles is not a big victory. They should always have been there. And the leadership as is, must go. They. Are. Jew-haters.
-
I agree they should have always been there. That said, Jews are often left out of these types of platforms. I think any step toward codifying anti-semitism as an oppression recognized by leftist groups is really important in the fight against anti-semitism and white supremacy.
-
Are you not concerned that this act was not in good faith? Have you seen any recantation worth a damn? And if this sort of "leftist" group needs to be persuaded that antisemitism (maybe lose the hyphen, please) is an oppression then I'd suggest that they're not worthy of support
-
I f we can turn all of this into a movement building educational moment we all win. If the March fail, we will all lose. As I wrote "We will be cast aside as the spoilers, those who re-elected Trump, those who are implacable and incapable of building. We will be Jill Stein."
-
I respect your hope that this is possible. But it feels to me motivated by fear - an implicit fear that these people's Jew-hate (or antisemitism, again please research why the hyphen should not be used) may be somehow justified. There are better hopes than the Women's March.
-
I don't fear that their anti-semitism is justified. I fear that burning down the March and it's leaders will strengthen anti-semitism and community tensions.
-
Yep a real and scary possibility.
-
But that would be the fault of the ANTISEMITES!! We should never have to accommodate them!
