    Maybe the C++ committee doesn't actually want C++ to be accessible, maybe they like it to be the complicated beast it is today, since if it was actually accessible, it would destroy their business of writing books about it and teaching it to other programmers.

    once you realize that, several things start to make sense, such as the obsession of employers (and immigration) with higher education, and the almost complete lack of correlation between having a degree and knowledge or skills

    I used to value CS degrees highly, but then realised I've had CS and Ph.D. CS colleagues varying from idiots to brilliant, and the same for autodidacts. I no longer no where I stand.
