The Best States to Retire in 2023. For some reason MN did not make the list. I wonder why? Taxing social security income? Taxing a person’s estate at death? We can do better. articles.smartasset.com/best-states-to

Another fire alarm at The Penfield. Ugg. At least no visible flames this time.
Minnesotans deserve an energy approach that is clean, affordable, and reliable. ‘100% carbon-free by 2040’ sounds good in theory, but in practice, it will reduce the reliability of MN’s energy grid; increase blackouts; and lead to higher utility bills

This morning I took a vote that would have allowed us to immediately pass a bill fully eliminating the tax on Social Security benefits. This should have been done last year in our end-of-session bipartisan agreement. We need to get it done as soon as possible.

Glad to chat with about the Minnesota blackout bill. Carbon-free energy is a great aspirational goal. But we need the innovations to get there, and it must be done at a cost that Minnesotans can't afford.

Our State has $17,600,000,000 surplus and over $2,000,000,000 rainy day fund. Tax hikes not needed.

A $17.6 billion surplus and @GovTimWalz wants MORE of your money.
His proposal includes tax increases for “Minnesotans who earn paychecks, shop in the seven-county Twin Cities metro area, buy fishing permits, own passenger vehicles…”
Billions in a surplus wasn’t enough?

On the third Monday of every January, we celebrate the legacy of Dr. King. Let us remember his wisdom and strive to create a society where we treat each other with dignity and respect.

One of my top priorities this year is to eliminate the outdated double tax on Social Security benefits. We had a bipartisan agreement on this last year, but House leadership refused to take it up for a vote. It needs to happen this year!

Thank you to for having me on to talk about the state's gigantic budget surplus.
MNs are struggling, & the state has taken far more than it needs. Folks deserve structural, permanent tax relief to help ease the pressure of soaring inflation
Enjoyed chatting with recently about the state's massive budget surplus!
We've taken too much money from Minnesota taxpayers, and we need to give it back. Here are some ideas:

Great article! I was an early enthusiastic supporter of this program. I am excited that it is growing to meet Minnesota's needs.
Today is the 81st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. I am thinking of the young heroes who lost their lives and the brave men and women who rallied to help their fellow Americans in the aftermath. On this solemn day, we pay tribute to these heroes.

That bill should be a starting point when the legislature convenes in 2023. I will be watching intently to see if the new Democrat majorities in the Senate and House, as well as Gov. Walz, are serious about using the surplus to help working families. (5/5)

I have received a number of questions about REAL ID in the past, so I wanted to make sure everyone is aware that the federal Department of Homeland Security has extended the deadline for REAL ID enforcement to May of 2025.

I was the author of these education bills and glad to note the Republican controlled Senate passed them along with the House and sent them to the Governor for his signature.
