This is awful, Got to stop?? The Hongkongers, have to realise that they are ASIAN PEOPLE!! They will never going to be WESTERNERS Some Westerners hate China even before they have ever been to China?
-
People in the West are brainwashed by their media. They hate China the same way they hate Russia. It’s all done so their military industrial complex can siphon more taxpayers’s money.
-
This person is a chinese drone, look through their twitter. They cant even comprehend the fact that China is a faceist police state, who rejects all ideas of anything outside of it, simular to north korea.
-
Sure buddy
-
You cant just say “sure buddy” to nullify an argument. This isnt a reddit these are real peoples lives. I mean I guess you’re working for them so theres no point nevermind
-
Sure buddy. I don’t see an argument. Just an attempt to shut me up.

I side with the
#freehongkong movement but i understand why the police fired in this case. Yet, protesters today are just escalating their violence IN RESPONSE TO PREVIOUS police brutality. Scenes like this are destined to happen as the oppressed fight the oppressor. -
Like you have said, we have to know the whole picture. I am living in HK and i understand the protesters' actions… the public anger has been growing for years as the puppet government refuses to serve interest of the local people, not only politically but also economically.
-
For years, the puppet government built "white elephant projects" like infrastructure that are all favouring the Chinese government AT THE EXPENSE OF taxpayers' money, rather than spending them to address burning issues like healthcare and housing.
-
There are 19.2 doctors per 10, 000 people in the city, which is certainly an undesirable number for a developed place. What makes it worse is the limited land supply and decreased public hospital construction (which is obviously a government policy).
-
One can easily find how crowded Hong Kong public hospitals are over the internet. (N.b. Hong Kong healthcare largely relies on public sector.) Doctor-to-population ratio https://www.hongkongfp.com/2019/01/12/i-felt-helpless-patients-waiting-longer-hong-kongs-overburdened-public-hospitals/ … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_dependencies_by_number_of_physicians …http://www.ejinsight.com/20190215-its-not-just-new-homes-hk-also-needs-more-hospital-beds/ …

On the other hand, most local graduates make around 13k HKD per month whereas property prices are at least 6000k HKD to get a decent flat to live with dignity. These numbers are all available online - the notorius housing problem in Hong Kong.
-
You can refer to some earlier Carl Zha talks, where he talked about the historical problem of housing price in HK. Those corporate oligarchs who have great influence in HK are the most responsible. Ironically the protests now are not about taking down those oligarchs anymore.
-
Thank you for telling me about housing issue being covered by this account. I went to read those tweets and found the tweets mostly supply-side-related. On demand side, actually theres hugh property market speculation apart from overpopulation...
