I agree w that China still decade away frm getting out of labor over-supply situation. Prbly much longer to reach labor under-supply situation like Japan. By then, China could simply make it easier for people of Southeast Asia to come to work in China

Hill vs Valley tension long existed in Manipur btw majority Meitei who live in the valley and "hill tribes" Naga and Kuki who live in the hills which cover most of land in Manipur. The conflict is over land rights

Italy's exports in Feb. 2023 were up 131% from Feb. 2022. Ordinarily, this'd be good news, but with export restrictions on Russia, inevitable question is where these goods are ultimately going. Maybe this is China "reopening," but German exports to China have no similar bounce...

104 years ago today, Chinese student protest in front of Tiananmen, Beijing. Allied Powers thru Treaty of Versailles decided to give German colony in China (Tsingtao) to Japan. Even tho US had promised China Tsingtao back as condition for China entry in WW1. May 4th mvm was born
