I think 's "What you can't say" is a great argument of why traveling is so enriching. Traveling teaches you what's just a norm and what's fundamental human behavior. Understanding that difference brings your understanding of the world to a new level.

With shipping speed comes quantity and with quantity comes quality. “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” — Will Durant (summarising some of Aristotle's thought in "The Story of Philosophy")

I propose we rename Google messaging services with the year of release, just like a copy of Madden or FIFA. The provides for easier tracking and better communicates the ~yearly lifecycle of these apps.

=> any VC that provides tips that don't correlate 100% with the success of the company (e.g. don't send Calendly invites, only use PDF etc.) is not doing their job.

A government should print money in proportion to productivity & population growth. If not prices, won't stay stable. This leads to the conclusion that if expenses are low enough a government could be funded 100% by the central bank. Has that ever been tried?

Any "fundraising tip" that can't be categorized as a "startup tip" is a market inefficiency. In a perfect world the only way to improve your fundraising odds is by building a better company. However, the market is not 100% efficient yet, that's why "fundraising tips" exists.

One of my favorite ideas. • 94% of professors say they‘re better-than-average teachers • 93% percent of drivers say they’re safer-than-average drivers • 90% of students think they’re more intelligent than the average student Do the opposite. Assume you’re below average.

Pear passed on seed rounds of these companies: Rappi, Front, Convoy and Faire. We loved the founders but either we moved slow (Faire) or we thought seed valuation is high (Rappi, Convoy, Front). Each investment could potentially return the fund. Back outliers and have no fear!

smart people like to bring up every corner case. but that ends up wasting a lot of time talking about things with very low % of happening. in most startups, better to focus on the solution and focus on shipping.

Pause and ask yourself: “Does this really need a response?” Little annoyances come and go. The irritation fades quickly if it is not indulged.

I don't get why central banks would use a blockchain. The target audience is people who trust the central bank enough to print money but not enough to settle transactions. Who are they?

Is there any way to short telcos' retail stores? eSim will kill them. Why go to a store when you can switch provider in an app?
