How is a journalist who opposes censorship part of the "authoritarian right"? I can't speak for Tulsi Gabbard or Glenn Greenwald, but anyone who attacks Matt Taibbi in this way doesn't know the meaning of either word -- or is so partisan he's willing to write gibberish.

Only @MSNBC could respond to an expose about how the DHS, FBI, DOD, CIA, and other agencies are funneling masses of content moderation requests to private companies by calling the author of that report "authoritarian." #credibility twitter.com/ZeeshanAleem/s…

Not every journalist covered this topic as a caricature. Here's one thoughtful take (he said modestly): realclearpolicy.com/2022/02/28/hey

I was and am right. As Joe Rogan said on January 5th of this year, what I said was true. Still waiting for an apology from Neil Young and Joni Mitchell as well as so many other musicians. But I am not holding my breath here...

.@cspan's #HouseSpeaker vote coverage is getting kudos. FYI: Our non-profit network doesn't get a dime of gov $$. Sadly, we're not avail to all pay TV customers, importantly @YouTubeTV and @hulu. Please help convince them to add C-SPAN to their lineups by liking and retweeting.

How about 2 calls at end of Commanders-Giants Dec. 18 game? First, zebras negate potentially tying TD (Washington still needed a 2-point conversion) because McLaurin allegedly lined up 1 yard behind line of scrimmage. Seconds later, this was deemed NOT to be pass interference.

Today's dysfunction in Washington is more evidence that the divide in our party isn't about policy or ideology. It's between those who want to win and get common sense conservative results and those who want to be a performance act at the circus.

On same day that McCarthy fails to win speakership on party-line vote, PA lawmakers elect Dem Speaker (who says he’ll ‘govern’ as an indie) w/ more than dozen GOP votes. And, in OH, Dem minority gives enough votes to GOP speaker who says he’ll work with D’s on new maps.

CRENSHAW: "It's a shame. It makes us look foolish. If I didn't know any better, it's like the Democrats paid these people off... Let's make it look like the Republicans can't govern and don't deserve any gavels whatsoever. That's what it makes it look like."

You are quite right sir, but can you please refrain from using the word "other" as a verb? It's a needless distraction.

Every time this claim is made, it's offensive as hell and only echoes racist far right talking points that seek to other non-whites. The majority of these players were born in France––a cosmopolitan and multi-ethnic society––and are every bit as French as anyone else. twitter.com/cjwerleman/sta…

The only rule in our household was that you weren't allowed to open the refrigerator and drink milk or juice directly out of the bottle or carton. My brother Dave and I were repeat offenders.
Quote Tweet
In my childhood, a lot of households had a rule that milk, OJ, etc had to be decanted into glasses or pitchers before a meal, because cartons on the table were vulgar. Both the rule and the memory of it seem to have vanished; I've never even heard anyone reference it.

I hope you make the roster, Matt, although if you do, you'll find far fewer elite players in the dugout than when you left. Nonetheless, welcome back.

In journalism we used to call the president or presidential nominee the "titular head" of the Republican (or Democratic) Party, & if you think of that job as being akin to a CEO, well, yes: Donald Trump did exactly to the GOP what Elon Musk is doing to Twitter.
Quote Tweet
Genuine question: Is there any precedent in the business world for a situation like the one we're seeing with Twitter, where a new CEO comes in and seems to *want* to inflict negative publicity on the previous regime of his or her own company? Or is this unique?

Now that we know conservative speech was suppressed, did Twitter suppress candidates or elected officials’ accounts during elections? If the answer is yes, then we have straight up election interference. should give the public a full account of this activity.

The late, great Molly Ivins was a proud progressive who'd have agreed with Mike Lee on almost nothing. But she'd have agreed with this. "I don't do kids," she told me in explaining why she didn't write about the hijinks of a prominent Texas Republican's teenage daughters.

Today @Deseret reported on a mental health crisis experienced by a 14-year-old girl in Texas, naming her parents and other personal details. Maybe these and other journalists think it’s okay because they don’t like the girl’s father. This is disgusting.

Two things wrong here, professor: (1) An industry with 1.5% profit margin isn't the problem. (2) Although it's nice to see Joe Biden return to first principles, it was during Bill Clinton's presidency (with in the cabinet) that Democrats rejected their antitrust roots.
