Now it is true that my favorite teachers were always the hardest and meanest ones AND the ones that required the most rote memorization. So....yes I may be projecting my own conditions for thriving on others.

I always did best in the “hard” classes. And tended to like the “bitch” teachers. They were always fair just demanded a standard out of their students. I once heard students blame the instructor for their failing.

Hey! If I failed then I did that. Even the shit instructors can be managed. You have to know how to handle them. Go see them in their office ask direct questions and write down their answers. Always worked for me.

I think the consistency is the key that helps. Humans do better with rules, either externally set or internally set.
