(There’s no other health condition where the burden is on the patient to sort through what diagnosis is appropriate for their distress.) (And where you’ll be called a bigot for getting it wrong.)

This is a great article, and really underscores the craziness of the informed-consent-means-dont-sue-me checklist assessment that most of us got lol

Great article, and also cant even begin to touch on the many complex things that could lead a person to seek transition. Even when I could pay out of pocket I could not find a therapist that I could work with around internalized homophobia.

Yes
article
I learn a lot
And that's worst than I thought at damaging people
Because here I see clearly how pernicious is this unfair system placing the responsibility of any medical harm on the patient
I even think it is build & lies on Guiltiness
This is not Science anymore

Thank you for this article, which I've personally shared more than a dozen times. Even the laxest standards are often ignored in the rush to "affirm."

Your article was v good. Also read the 1 about Andrea chu. Telling people that medical transitioning is the only choice is horrible. Alternates 2 manage dysphoria should be provided. Medical trans may not fit with people's life goals, social interactions, sense of self, etc.
