I get along best with our 7 year old because we like the same cartoons.
Sometimes when parents want their kids to talk to me the subtext is “my child is foolish in ways much like you are foolish.” And I can’t be mad bc yes my foolishness tends to be on trend.

On the other hand a stranger could say the exact same words a parent says and the kids will think they're genius while ignoring the parent.
