This week I earned my independent MFT license. It’s hard to explain to non-therapists, but it’s the end of a 2.5 year process for me and in many ways a much bigger, more difficult deal than earning my masters. 1/

don’t know all the ins & outs but I’m more familiar with the work then most. So I get it. Social work is an involved career. My sister in law works for CPS doing emergency removals. She’s the social worker there at 1 am when the cops bust a drug lab & find 7 kids in there.
Yeah, my training is p distinct from social work education but working in community mental health there’s a lot of role confusion.
