I get these really awful migraines where I p violently throw up for about 24 hours. Everyone in my life knows this but it’s this weirdly forgettable thing about my life UNLESS you’re in the house w/ me in which case it’s really unnerving and awkward.
I get accused of going mia on ppl or using it as an excuse to skip functions and I think I just need an audio file of me vomiting to send along to ppl. Migraines sometimes aren’t laying down quietly sleeping. Sometimes it’s “chewing ice cubes i know for sure are coming back up.”
I think this is the point in my life where I start self describing as “sickly.”
Perhaps someday my healthy friends can be ushered in by a v quiet nurse to visit me propped up in a four poster bed, until I cough into my handkerchief and it’s time to be ushered out.
Ah but you knew me as such a vibrant woman, despite my weak constitution.

Take care of yourself and know that whatever you are canceling when you have a migraine isn’t as important as doing what you need to do to recover.
My son had severe migraines and whatever patient I was seeing I had to suddenly cancel to pick him up from school before the vomiting started, even though they had waited 18 months for their appointment and had done two days prep). Migraines never happen at convenient times!
Can you see a neurologist again, please?
