Oh, this is so true. I really feel for moms. Even more than dads, we expect them to know how to meet our every need and resent them when they don't. Probably something primordial there...but doesn't mean it's healthy.
If I had a dollar for every time a therapist anywhere in the world said “i think on balance you had a pretty good mom” I’m not convinced I’d make any taxable income.

Well I've spent the last 18 years (hey that's the age of my oldest kid- coincidence?) wondering how I am so messed up because both my parents on balance were more than pretty good.
