Tbh the ways ppl misunderstand detransition as political- sometimes it is, mostly it’s not- always ends up giving detransitionersthe opportunity for our real viewpoints to be found. 1/

I care A LOT about misogyny, but I detransitioned bc it was clear transition wouldn’t take me to the kind of life I fantasized about. A lot of trans ppl are happy with their lives + feel medical transition was a great thing for them. All the patient outcomes are important. 2/

I reserve the right to be honest about misogyny, just like I reserve the right to be honest about my life in general. But I think ppl who conceive as detransition as a political choice are inappropriately elevating politics in their personal decisions. 3/

And you’re running the risk that if yr politics change yr identity has to change and geez what a chaotic way to move througg life. Start with focusing on a daily life that feels good and don’t let political analysis run you ragged. 5/

Also, + i know this is petty, political analysis is the weakest way to do politics. Quit with the manifestos and knock on some doors to pass a city council resolution. There’s life outside of overthinking. /the end.
