I actually offered to talk to him, but he declined.

Yes. He said it was too late, which might be true, but I also got the impression that he had a predetermined narrative in place and didn't want to add anything that might call it's basic assumptions into question, revealing the need for more reasearch.

He claims he wanted to speak to detransitioners, but I think he knew we wouldn't due to his past comments. He's probably very pleased with himself that he gets to write "no detransitioners agreed to participate."
