Ok you can argue that “peer support” is the appropriate model for detrans care OR you can serial date ppl you meet through the detrans community. 1/

I’ve had some good times in detrans community, I’ve had a lot of disappointing, surreal and stressful times too. Now luckily I don’t live my life by group consensus so being disappointed by a social circle is not the end of the world for me. 4/

To sum up: for a community where LOTS of ppl struggle with identity diffusion/poor boundaries/intellectualizing, relying on peer support is asking for major trouble.

Don’t you think if we had like, peer support groups that were supervised/led my a councillor/therapist that would lessen these issues a bit?

I guess support groups could make agreements no one will date, which is standard for a lot of group. Tbh so many detrans women have issues with the MH profession I’m not sure a counselor leading a group would do more than a group agreement would.
