Detrans community can be v meaningful for ppl, but it can turn messy, mean girl style, QUICK. Add in ppl dating each other to the mix and it’s p obvious that’s way too volatile a social circle to be depending on for guidance and support. 3/

I’ve had some good times in detrans community, I’ve had a lot of disappointing, surreal and stressful times too. Now luckily I don’t live my life by group consensus so being disappointed by a social circle is not the end of the world for me. 4/

To sum up: for a community where LOTS of ppl struggle with identity diffusion/poor boundaries/intellectualizing, relying on peer support is asking for major trouble.
