This is simply awful.
Sometimes ppl tell me social services are too quick to take ppl’s kids and I remember when I called for a kid who was being paddled hard enough it hurt to sit 24 hours later and the hotline worker told me “it’s not supposed to feel good, it’s a punishment.”

Yep, I’m my experience it takes a lot to get kids taken from parents & even then the parents get “services” . It’s why kids sit in foster their whole damn lives. Because the courts will very rarely take parental rights away.

I called for years on a kid who’s parents were severely addicted to hardcore drugs and who’s father was molesting him and is the town flasher. They finally removed the kid for “neglect” three years later

I just assumed it was a racial/wealth disparity. CPS in the states only seems to care if you’re poor and/or black/latino

Imho, they target incorrectly. I've seen both - parents who should never have had their kids taken, and kids (like me) who should have been taken but were just left to rot.

UK is probably a very different ballgame. Even over here every state will be different.
