I agree! I also think that’s it is not “child abuse” when someone does decide to go ahead with this treatment pathway for their child and it does improve their quality of life.
It is not transphobic to discuss the ethics of SPECIFIC issues in medical transition, such as when is a person mature enough to consent to medical procedures and HOW ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THEM if the medical procedures you provided decrease their quality of life?

I used to work with effeminate young males, their therapy for body disphoria was to wait until 18 as feelings change through out puberty, by then they made a clearer view as to whether they were transgender or gay, the Blockers were never used as children can’t give permission.

A question I see with allowing a child to consent to these procedures is do they truly understand what they're consenting TO? If they cannot understand all possible ramifications of medical transition (or won't understand them), how can the patient give informed consent at all?
