If someone doesn’t know your boundaries, they don’t know you. If someone isn’t interested in your boundaries, they’re not interested in knowing you.
Think about the ppl you know who respond to you asserting boundaries with disdain or anger. Now think about the ppl you know who talk a lot more than other ppl, + have trouble giving ppl the space to talk. My hunch is there’s a sizable overlap in these groups.
It’s not personal that they are not curious in who other people are, it’s just that they have a p tenuous self-concept that is easily threatened. Which is probably p hard for them. But don’t get it twisted, it’s unlikely they’ll suddenly feel comfy with your authenticity.
Short version: choose to seek out time w/ the ppl who make it so easy to be honest about what you like and what you don’t. Fill up your life with them.
