Traditional roles in the family stunt both female and male children. On the other hand you meet enough middle aged ppl you get kinda grateful to have a shot at the resilience and clarity women get from overcoming female childhood socialization.

I would never ever chose being a young woman over being a young man. But middle aged woman over middle aged man? Choices catch up and it’s so much less embarrassing.

I’m grateful to be a middle aged woman. I feel happier than at any other point in life. I’m not convinced it’s all socialization, and I think socialization is both a positive and negative force.
