Once I met a couple who were endlessly punishing their kids for infractions by only feeding them ramen noodles for every every meal for months + when I called DCFS the woman in the couple said I could’t understand because I didn’t have kids. 
I have actually lost count how many time I’ve told ppl hitting their kids will increase the symptoms of their kids’ mental health conditions and been told I’m only saying that because I don’t have kids.
Total projection. We parents had no real idea how the stress of parenting would feel and how we would react to it until it happened to us. It is so hard to be vulnerable enough to say "I need to do better, how can I, it's hard, I have tried and failed so many times."
