I have p strong opinions about the protective factors middle class families push on their kids that wealthy families do not, and how lots of wealthy parents end up setting their kids up for adult substance abuse.

I feel as if you are using 'middle class' here as a euphemism for 'poor' whereas in the UK it's a euphemism for 'rich'. Whats a typical middle class household you're thinking of?

I think bc you folks have an aristocracy the “middle” is much higher. But here it means not wealthy, not poor. The thing is most wealthy families here hold tight to the belief they are actually in the middle.
