Meanwhile in real life mental health clinicians are loathe to use personality disorder diagnoses bc you’re representing to an insurance company that the patient’s disorder is necessarily “treatment resistant.” Kinda jumping the gun to put that on someone before trying treatment.

But on the internet mental health conditions are shorthands to use when you are too lazy to write out a dunk. It’s ok, I use reality show GIFs the same way.

I wish there were more contemporary feminist critique of psychiatry. There's valuable stuff in the field, but diagnoses like BPD frequently just serve to individualise trauma/ societal problems foisted on women and girls.
