Keep it. Wear it even. If you love it you will feel right. It can be ‘fancied up’ with all sorts of stuff like flowers if you need to - and nothing if that’s how you like it. Later on, you can dye it and still wear it!
I guess the thing is by wearing it I’m acknowledging that if someday I have a wedding it won’t be my wedding dress. But if I save it for a wedding in a year or two this person will be in attendance + I’ll be thinking about what they’re thinking.

I guess the illusion the comment took away was the idea I was going to have a day where everyone just felt good about me and thought I looked pretty/whatever.
