I don't think this is strange at all. It's funny because I see other feminists who I respect objecting to the idea of a "gendered soul" primarily because they don't believe in souls, but I do believe in souls, I just don't believe that souls are gendered...
My strangest belief is that gender dysphoria is a reflection of a sacred, whole self that this fallen world doesn’t have room for. So when you feel particularly dysphoric that’s your soul crying out for acknowledgement.

...I don't talk much about these private beliefs, because they exist beyond the realm of the knowable, and I'm not going to try to convince others. I am sort of an agnostic, sort of a Kantian. He raises some good points about the cognitive role played by belief in god and souls.

Well put. True Identity is so vast and beyond words but at the same time we seem to live in limited forms. If we only have an inclination of this we tend to try to reclaim a more "complete" identity not realizing that we are already "whole" in the body as we are.

Well if gender/gender roles didn't exist, dysphoria wouldn't exist. Because it is deeply rooted in these abstract things.

I don’t believe in souls, but I get why others do. Humans clearly have a set of “spiritual” (for want of a better word) feelings that words/logic alone don’t adequately describe. I feel it being in forests, or by the sea, watching the sky or admiring beautiful artwork & music.

Or your brain wiring. We know that religious visions happen when specific parts of the brain are stimulated. For me, my brain sneeze area must be close or connected to my brain burp area because when I have a burp stuck it stimulates a sneezing attack, until the burp comes up.
