“Breeding kink” also known as the resource incentive that drives all oppression of female ppl since the agricultural revolution.

Did not expect ppl would respond to this thread so strongly! Guess we’re hungry for some materialist incentive analysis in our feminism. I totally get why- w/o it the subjugation of female ppl across cultures can make you feel insane. We make people. That gives men big feelings.

The Creation of Patriarchy by Gerda Lerner is a decent start.

I’m kinda stunned at how hard this is to answer tbh! Bc like you say... it’s the core. Talked about it for a while & settles on both Women as Wombs by Janice Raymond & Pornography: Men Possessing Women by Andrea Dworkin. Creation of the Patriarchy is a good rec too
-
Neither of those really feel TRULY sufficient though!! Gonna think more on it

I’ve been trying to remember if there was a book that made this idea cohesive for me, and this was the closest one. Super trippy, a lot like poetry, and very good for grokking.pic.twitter.com/VjYLh7VPo3

The Creation of Patriarchy by Gerda Lerner is what you’re seeking. Everything else is either dependent on her scholarship (which in no way devalues it) or is Friedrich Engels, upon whom Lerner built. I got to hear Lerner speak, late in her life, & count myself lucky.
