I have found that media that engages with female detransitioners often wants to focus on our looks and our victimhood, and consistently leaves out our organizing, professional skills, and the FACTS about healthcare institutions we try to highlight.

Nothing will make an ambitious, effective, reflective, fully grown woman feel more gender dysphoric than seeing her face or story plugged into an “our fragile, suffering daughters” storyline.

But you know, that’s the sexist world we live in and all you can really do to fight it is try to give other women a break from those sexist assumptions in your interactions. Which, let’s be real, is a pretty hard self-development project to take on.
