@TeenVogue says “there is no discussion to be had” about the outcomes of pediatric medical transition, which at this point shouldn’t shock me, but is there ANY other branch of medicine where ppl aren’t even allowed to DISCUSS such an incomplete pool of research?https://twitter.com/officialGCCAN/status/1287734795099951104 …

If we think about pediatric conditions with much bigger and more cohesive bodies of research- depression in kids, anxiety- no one claims the research is so cohesive that you can’t DISCUSS either the validity of the research or the ethics of the treatments.

If the justification for pediatric medical transition is actually rooted in research, medical providers will keep discussing the research, the way we do for migraines/allergies/heart conditions/ mental health conditions. Health research is SUPPOSED to be continually challenged.

If pediatric medical transition is a scientifically justified response to gender dysphoria in kids then it will be analyzed, discussed, challenged continually because that’s the standard of knowledge being considered SCIENCE instead of religion.

The absolute rejection of the diverse viewpoints of people who have EXPERIENCED these medical interventions is straight up creepy.
