Am I comfortable being treated like a woman? No, full stop. Am I comfortable with how comfortable other ppl were about me using essentially experimental medical interventions that have unknown impacts on my blood, brain and organs? No, full stop.
If female ppl were valued you’d see at least some research into the long term physical health of trans men. Female ppl have been using T since the 70’s. If anyone cared about those female ppl there’d be research into health outcomes.
Being a female person with a gender transition experience means coming face to face with how little the medical profession values females.
So yeah now I walk through the world getting treated in a way I find p exhausting and alienating, and try v hard to find social pockets where it’s ok to be myself. It’s far from ideal. But for me it’s preferable to all the unknowns of years of T.
And I get that trans men will look at my appearance and be like “GAWD this straight lady WHATEVER” and I’ve found that means in 3 years they’ll send me a heartfelt email apologizing. So GAWD, whatever.
