Oh Meg, it’s really rough. Ppl outside the field don’t understand what the jobs in the field require- even in terms of weekly hours- at all. Or like, physical safety concerns, or the bad behavior from other professionals you see.
I feel like honestly i have not “gotten through it,” it’s taken a major toll. So I feel like a therapist is a necessity, and a partner who won’t dump you, and editing out every outside thing that was an energy suck.
It has v much clarified for me what relationships/interests were energy sucks. My off days are for recovery and I had to ditch a lot of social relationships/activities that were energy sucks.
I appreciate you sharing. I have appreciated reading the tweets you have done that give a glimpse into the job.
