People both want to be the brave speaking out against left authoritarianism and yet compassionate, but they have to pick these strange little positions to prove compassion. I guess since I’ve been there I should be nice about it.

Totally agree re: Rowling but then what was up w/ agreeing that courts can order that in legal filings trans women be called “trans females” instead of males? I got this theory trans ppl remind normies of their own ever-present fears of being gender failures, and that’s why they’ve come to occupy a sacred cow role on the left. The only other adults that ppl perform such careful consideration for are ppl w/ developmental disabilities.

Also just to say when I was trans-identified ppl often talked to me as if I had some kind of developmental disability and couldn’t see/think about gender in the same way a normal adult could. Very, very strange and infantilizing kind of “compassion.”
