It’s obviously an incredibly tricky accomplishment to pull off but if you can turn your teen onto the experience of using all their luck and blessings to create experiences of total relief for poor ppl, it will do SO much for their resilience and sanity. 7/

Also as weird as it was to feel just a lil bit like a zoo animal when the wealthy kids came to the inner city, it’s the kind of interesting experience I’m glad I got. So we were all winners, thanks Jesuits! /the end.

My 7th grade teacher took a few of us out to see life "on the other side of the tracks" in our city - I had no idea there were people living like that. When I was 20, I was on a missions trip to the Phillipines, worked with those living on a garbage dump at the time. EYEOPENING
