There are actually lots of privileged, wealthy ppl who work hard to get money and resources into the hands of poor people. But those kinds of actions aren’t gonna get you the credibility/celebration/essay book deal an oppressed identity will.
What will get you more famous/more activist cred- a couple of years spent working to increase the funds for a homeless shelter or a book of essays about how hard it is for people with your gender identity? Straight up helping poor ppl ain’t sexy.
