We know striking is a huge personal sacrifice But days lost to strike action have to be weighed v a) the enormous amounts that will lost if we do not nail down the USS issue b) huge amounts being lost by casualised staff, sufferers of pay gaps, & all working many hours for free

Message 1: when UCEA (or others) says “flawed RPI” in context of UCU pay negs - they’re weaponising an unsettled theoretical dispute in the statistical community - and it’s very clear why they seek to do that. Message 2: statisticians are so cool.
