If f(z) is an entire function and f(z) goes to infinity along every path going to infinity, f is a polynomial.

Michael Noyk was born in Lithuania to Jewish parents. He would later become an Irish republican after emigrating, and defended many IRA men in court during the War of Independence. He was also a Sinn Féin activist, and was very important to the First Dáil’s Department of Finance.

Remember when Evelyn Boyd Granville used to be touted as the first African American woman (1949) with a PhD in mathematics, until Euphemia Lofton Haynes (1943) was recognised instead? Same story here: AND THE NEW DISCOVERY Mary Gough HAD THE SAME ADVISOR AS HAYNES!! Astounding!

My mom hated Trump, but she valued being a Republican. She marched against trump, but believed her party would one day come out from under the ether and realize he was a fraud. Today she changed her party affiliation to democrat. Please give my mom a warm welcome.

Quick question for a Monday evening: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone who’s decided to learn Irish for the first time, or has decided to return to Irish?

He was in fact the first African American to earn a PhD in *any* subject from an American university, one of the first ten people of any race to earn a PhD in physics from an American university, and one of the first Americans to earn a PhD in any subject in the US.

Today's honoree for is Dr. Edward Bouchet. Dr. Bouchet was the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in physics from any American University. He has established a legacy of excellence for all African American physicists.

You really have to understand how huge Shakira’s performance was for the Middle Eastern community. She had belly dancing, a mijwiz and a derbeke, performed “Ojos Asi” which was one of the few Shakira songs to have Arabic in it, did a Zaghrouta, all love on the biggest stage

Love to see taking a stand. Thinking that math is somehow separate from the politics of the day is a fiction - one that too many in our community don't have the luxury of living.

Since "iff" is such a handy abbreviation for "if and only if" may I suggest the following, in the same spirit: att = at and only at whenn = when and only when thenn = then and only then butt = but and only but etc never mind
